Alumnus Patrick Ramirez appointed to University Advisory Board

Fresno State alumnus Patrick Ramirez, vice president of corporate services at Community Medical Centers was named to the University Advisory Board by Fresno State President Joseph I. Castro.

The 21-member panel of community members provides strategic input on development of the University. Members generally serve three-year terms.

Ramirez is a Firebaugh native who earned a health science degree from Fresno State in 2005. He earned a master’s in public health with an emphasis in health policy and management from University of California, Berkeley’s School of Public Health in 2012.

At Community Medical Centers, Ramirez helped develop corporate strategy and evaluate long-term business opportunities and real estate investments.

Previously, he held director and vice president positions at Clovis Community Medical Center and was responsible for all ancillary and professional support services. Before joining CCMC, Ramirez was an administrative director in Ambulatory Services at UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco where he oversaw regional operations and business development for outpatient pediatric specialties.

Ramirez is a leadership fellow at the UC Berkeley Center for Health Leadership and was recently honored as an American College of Healthcare Executives Thomas C. Dolan Executive Diversity Scholar. In 2018, he will start his second term as a board member of the California Association of Healthcare Leaders.

Also appointed to the Board was Gary Chahil, board president of CCI Inc.

Each will be valued advisors as the board discusses key issues that shape the bright future of Fresno State.”
