“The welfare of our students and university is #1.” – Dr. Andrew Hoff

Today our college and campus community came together to recognize a man who has led a distinguished career with Fresno State that spans nearly 40 years. Dr. Andrew Hoff served as the longtime Dean of the College of Health and Human Services, spending a combined 12 years as both Dean and Associate Dean. He is a proud alumnus in the Department of Recreation Administration, which is where he also taught for 23 years. Hoff even held memorable stints in the Lyles College of Engineering (2005-2007) and College of Science and Mathematics (2011-2013), serving as Interim Dean to both at different times, respectively.

At one point, Hoff was even named amongst the “100 Awesome Deans of Public Health” by the Master of Public Health website. We couldn’t agree more! Tomorrow night, he will receive the prestigious Outstanding Alumni Award for the College of Health and Human Services at the Top Dog Alumni Awards Gala.

Today, we celebrated Hoff’s latest achievement and of course, the many years he gave to our college, with a couple of events:

Top Dog Breakfast

Every year, our college holds a special event to recognize the Top Dog recipient of the year. This morning was all about the Hoff! Thank you to many of our Fresno State administration that came out this morning, including: President Joseph Castro, Provost Lynette Zelezny, VP of Student Affairs Frank Llamas, VP of Advancement Paula Castadio and more.

Recreation Administration Luncheon

Many students, staff and faculty of the Department of Recreation Administration united today over pizza and good conversation – and to speak to one of their greatest alums!
